Aunt Jean's Ice Cream Sandwich Dessert

When we went to have lunch with Aunt Jean and Uncle Pat, Jean made this for us.  You know it must be incredible since the Huggins family is typically not a huge dessert eating-crew, but we could not refrain from gobbling this down!  If you are wondering, yes, I am making this for a July 4th cookout!!!

Ice Cream Sandwich Dessert

17 miniature ice cream sandwiches, divided
1 jar (8 oz.) caramel ice cream topping
1 carton (12 oz) cool whip
¼ cup chocolate syrup
1 Symphony candy bar (7 oz) chopped (or Heath bar)
Arrange 14 ice cream sandwiches in an ungreased 13x9-inch dish.
Cut remaining sandwiches in half lengthwise and fill in the spaces.  Spread with caramel and whipped toppings.  Drizzle with chocolate syrup.  Sprinkle with chopped candy bar.
Cover and freeze for at least 45 minutes.
Yield:  15-18 servings
Pin It!
