Mom's Sauteed Mushrooms

Let's be honest, I love a mushroom any way you want to give it to me, stuffed, broiled, sauteed or raw.  Another thing I love is anything cooked by my mother!  Mom has her sauteed mushrooms down to an absolute art form.  Though it changes every time she makes them depending on what she has available, they are always delicious!  As simple side dish or a superb topping for a great steak, these mushrooms are a family favorite and one I felt I would be remiss not to share!

Mom's Sauteed Mushrooms

1 large package fresh mushrooms, quartered
1/2 stick butter
1/2 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup red wine
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon Emeril's Essence
1/4 teaspoon Cavender's Greek Seasoning
1/4 teaspoon tarragon
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Saute the onions and garlic in the butter.  Add mushrooms to the onions and garlic and toss to coat over medium heat.  Add remaining and let simmer on medium for five minutes.  Serve immediately.
