Just your basic marinara sauce

In what feels like a never ending search for the perfect marinara sauce I recently came across this recipe as I was playing on and since it was a little different technique and list of ingredients than I am used to when it comes to these things I thought I would give it a shot!  As it turns out it was rather delicious especially when I put my meatballs in there....that just sounded disgusting but we are going to slide right past that!  For the meatball recipe just check out that blog post and couple it with this sauce or any of the other marinara sauces I have made.....I must admit, even though I keep trying lots of different recipes does not mean that the ones I have tried aren't incredible, because they are....I just like to try new ones every once in a while!

Marinara Sauce

2 (14.5 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
6 tablespoons olive oil
1/3 cup finely diced onion
1/2 cup white wine

I keep my herbs in water in the fridge to keep them fresh if I don't have them available in my garden...
In a food processor place Italian tomatoes, tomato paste, chopped parsley, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth.
In a large skillet over medium heat saute the finely chopped onion in olive oil for 2 minutes.
Add the blended tomato sauce and white wine.
At this point I add the meatballs to the sauce and let it sit for a little while.
Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Since I had my nephew all weekend I feel it my duty to show off some pictures of him playing in his favorite toy, a bog box, and with Annabelle.....I hear your gasps, I couldn't believe it either but Annie was actually playing with the kid!
