My Favorite Morning Smoothie

About a year ago I really started trying to be good about eating is the most important meal of the day after all, but for as long as I have been on this great earth, I have not been hungry until 10:00 a.m.  I just don't wake up hungry....I typically chug a huge glass of water before I even put my feet on the floor thus leaving me temporarily full.

With my new motivation to break out of my normal routine and create a new, healthier routine I enlisted the help of my friend, Mary Morgan, to give me some easy, yummy breakfast options.

This was the first thing I tried and I have been making it as often as I can for breakfast ever since!  I love this smoothie so much that one day while trying to rush out the door I was in such a hurry that I put my smoothie on top of my car in order to load up everything else I had.  Well as I drove off I realized it was still sitting on top of my car and as I slammed on the breaks and a pink goo starting sliding down the front of my car, I realized I could have come to a little more gentle of a stop.

With the hose out trying to clean off my car and the drive way, cussing the entire time no doubt, I finally was able to get my life back in order.....well enough to head to work at least!  As I was standing in the kitchen, getting my coffee, explaining why I was late someone asked me what the pink yuk was on the back of my boot and in my hair.

Needless to say this wasn't my day, but what made me the most mad was not the situations, the cleaning or even the tardiness (which always leave me flustered) but more the fact that I DIDN'T HAVE MY SMOOTHIE!!

My Cruela Devile moment wore off as the morning went on but I still laugh when I think back on that morning and what my neighbors must have been thinking as they earmuffed their children!

Ruthie's Morning Smoothie
1/4 cup orange juice
1 hand full mixed berried
(I use frozen blueberries, blackberries and strawberries but you can use fresh)
1 banana
1 cup Greek yogurt
In a blender pour in your ingredients and turn on high (or liquify) until completely combined.  You may need to turn off for a second and scoot them around with a spoon as sometimes it just needs a little help!

Of course if I am in a hurry and don't have time to make this I love a Grab The Gold bar as well for breakfast!
