You know the thing about a margaritas is that I like them, I really do, but do I like them enough to waste the calories on them? You see I am faced with this dilemma when I am usually looking at the cheese dip already in front of me and a skillet full of chicken fajitas on its way so I usually opt for a large beer with my Mexican feast!
My option on these salty/sweet cocktails completely, 100% changed this weekend when a good friend of mine made her special margaritas....they were sneaky, they were delicious and they ruined for me any subsequent margarita I may ever have as they were without question the best margaritas EVER!
I highly recommend these for your next gathering of friends but don't say I didn't warn you....they are amazingly lethal!!! I recently told Kaylee that she can not make these again unless she first wraps me in bubble wrap!
Kaylee Osland's Margaritas
original recipe from The Degner Family
original recipe from The Degner Family
2 parts sweet and sour (don't use margarita mix, it will make them taste terrible)
1 - 1 1/2 parts tequila (I recommend adding the extra half)
1 part Triple Sec
Juice from 1/4 lime
about 1 tsp of brown sugar
Love, LOVE this post. Those things are incredible!!! Such a fun night.
ReplyDeleteLove the post! I wish I could take credit but I must give credit where credit is due...this post might more appropriately be called "The Degner Family" marg recipe. My friend Glynnis shared her family marg recipe with me back in college! I hope others will enjoy it as well!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! Lots of yummy recipes. We are travelling to Nashville (from St. Louis) at the end of the month and am wondering what one or two restaurants you would consider to be not missed. We enjoy southern comfort foods, seafood, mexican... and prefer something that is reasonably priced. Thanks so much...you can respond to my email address: melanielehr@gmail.com.
