The Farmer's Markets in Nashville

Pick Tennessee Products.
I recently realized that a great majority of my paycheck goes to the grocery store....I can't help it!  I love to cook, I love to try new recipes, I just can't stop myself!  What I also realized is that all that cold hard cash is not going directly back into my community.  Don't get me wrong, I know that there are great initiatives from the commercial grocery stores to give back to their communities but I want the local farmers, the local business owners to profit from my inability to stop buying $60 worth of groceries on a Wednesday night!

Here is where the local farmer's markets come into play....there happens to be a TON of them across this grand city!  There is one in Richland Park at the corner of 46th and Charlotte, there is another one in Sevier Park in the 12th South district, there is a huge one downtown, another out in Franklin that people just rave about, and awesome East Nashville gathering and a million other produce stands scattered about.  To find the farmer's market close to you just click here.

My point is this....support your local farmers and business owners.  Their produce and goods are exceptional, their prices are incredibly competitive with those at the larger grocery stores and the quality exceeds all expectations!!

There is always something going on at one of these wonderful Farmer's Markets.  For example tonight I will be attending the Night Market at the downtown market....SO much fun with wine, live music and all the vendors there to answer questions, chat about their goods and supply you for the weekend and week ahead!

I recently took a stroll down to the West Nashville Farmer's Market since it is near where I live and took a few pictures...forgive the quality, I had my dog with me so hauling my camera wasn't an option so these were taken with my phone..

Let's be honest, I would go back for the cheese alone!

Here are some of the pics I took from vendors that I cannot remember the name of but they too were amazing!  I was able to get many of my groceries for the week in this one farmer's market!!

As you can tell, Percy was WORN OUT by the time we got home...
POOPED!!
