Bread Dipping Oil

One of my greatest weaknesses is bread....and something to dip it in or spread upon it!

Sweet heavenly days, God forgive me for the lack of restraint I demonstrate when someone puts some delicious, warm bread in front of me with genuine Italian olive oil, herbed butter or seasonings of any kind.

I can't help it, it is simply a weakness and one, quite frankly, I am not going to give up.

When I came across this recipe on Pinterest my first thought was "how have I not been in search of such recipes before?"

I guess I had simply compartmentalized it to simply being some a restaurant could produce and nothing a mere mortal could produce from their home kitchen.

My brother's first words after tasting were emphatically "you can make this whenever you want"!!

Really Brother?  Can I?

Well as we all know there are those people in our lives who tell it like it is and my brother is one of those people so with his recommendation, I hope you enjoy!

Bread Dipping Oil
as adapted from www.therecipediva.com

1 tablespoon crushed red pepper
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried rosemary
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 tablespoon dried Italian Seasoning
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon fresh minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
extra virgin olive oil
French Bread, for dipping

Mix all ingredients together.

To use, put 1 tablespoon of this seasoning mixture into a small bowl and pour extra virgin olive oil over it.

Mix and dip warm slices of Italian bread into it!  Store the remaining seasoning mixture in the fridge.
